The Beverage Industry is an Important Part of Kentucky’s Economy

Kentucky’s non-alcoholic beverage industry plays an important role in the economy, sustaining thousands of well-paying jobs, providing significant tax revenue to the state and federal governments and making generous charitable contributions in communities across the state.

Kentucky’s beverage companies make and sell some of the most popular, refreshing, non-alcoholic beverages in the world. With a presence felt in every corner of every community in the state – from our products in the aisles of neighborhood stores, to our local delivery drivers who distribute them and our consistent support of local community initiatives – you might say that the beverage industry quenches Kentucky’s thirst.

Kentucky’s Beverage Industry Provides 4,118 Jobs in the State

In addition to beverage production and distribution jobs, Kentucky’s beverage industry supports numerous other business sectors and their employees throughout the state, all of which benefit from our industry’s economic impact. In fact, more than 12,116 workers in restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, movie theaters and more depend, in part, on beverage sales for their livelihoods.

  • With a direct economic impact of $2.32 billion, Kentucky’s beverage industry provides $267.48 million in wages and contributes $181.42 million in taxes at the state level and $297.61 million at the federal level.

  • Kentucky’s beverage industry also generously contributes $4 million to charitable causes across the state.

  • We are American companies making American products with American workers in America’s hometowns.
