Leading the Industry

The Kentucky Beverage Association (KBA) represents over 4,000 employees who work tirelessly to produce, market, and distribute refreshing, non-alcoholic beverages across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Association is able to do this due to the experienced industry leadership that compromises the board of directors and decades of experience from our executive director.

The board of directors is represented by individuals from member companies that help provide governance and strategic direction for KBA priorities such as legislative and regulatory matters.

Sara Massey

Sara Massey is Executive Director of the Kentucky Beverage Association. She joined the KBA in June 2020 after serving as the Executive Director for the Kentucky Engineering Center, a business and professional trade association for Kentucky Professional Engineers.


Prior to joining the Kentucky Engineering Center, Sara served as the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for Mayor Greg Fischer in Louisville, KY. During her tenure with Mayor Fischer, Sara oversaw the coordination of the Intergovernmental Affairs team and the development of the Mayor’s legislative agendas and transportation funding requests. She also served on the Kentucky League of Cities Board of Directors representing the Mayor’s Office. Sara worked in campaign finance for multiple statewide races before working for Mayor Fischer’s administration.

Sara is originally from Owensboro, KY and is a graduate of the University of Alabama. She currently resides in Louisville with her husband, TJ, and two young daughters.
